A “hyper-vaccinated” German man who allegedly received 217 Covid jabs in 29 months showed “no signs” of ever being infected with the virus that causes Covid-19 and reported no vaccine-related side effects not, according to a study published in the journal Lancet Infectious Diseases.

The 62-year-old, from Magdeburg, Germany said he had the large number of vaccines for “private reasons”, the researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg said.

The academics heard about the man from a newspaper article and asked if they could study his body’s response to the multiple stab wounds.

“We then contacted him and invited him to undergo various tests in Erlangen,” said Dr Kilian Schober. “He was very interested in doing it.”

The research team said they saw official confirmation for 134 of the vaccinations, which included eight different vaccines. They looked at previous blood tests the man had given and also examined blood samples while he was still receiving vaccines.

“The observation that no noticeable side effects were caused despite this extraordinary hypervaccination suggests that the drugs have a good degree of tolerability,” Schober said.

The researchers found that his immune system was fully functioning.

Certain immune cells and antibodies against the virus that causes Covid-19 (Sars-CoV-2) were present in significantly higher levels compared to people who received only three vaccines, the team reported.

“Overall, we found no indication for a weaker immune response, rather the opposite,” said one of the lead study authors Katharina Kocher.
